Kevin Long's career as a hitting coach has been marked by significant achievements and notable contributions to various teams. His ability to enhance team performance and individual player development has consistently been evident throughout his tenure in Major League Baseball (MLB).
During his time with the New York Yankees, Long's coaching was instrumental in transforming the team's offensive capabilities. His strategic approach and keen eye for player potential saw the Yankees leading the MLB in several key batting statistics, culminating in a World Series victory in 2009. His success with the Yankees underscored his value as a coach, leading to a contract renewal that kept him with the team through subsequent seasons.

Transitioning to the New York Mets in 2014, Long continued to demonstrate his prowess. His influence was particularly evident in the remarkable transformation of Daniel Murphy into a postseason power hitter, showcasing Long's ability to develop talent and adapt strategies to maximize player strengths. The Mets' success in reaching the National League pennant in 2015 further solidified his reputation.

Long's move to the Washington Nationals in 2017 proved to be another successful chapter in his career. Under his guidance, the Nationals not only excelled in league-wide offensive standings but also achieved a World Series triumph in 2019. This success highlighted Long's consistent ability to elevate team performance on the biggest stages.
In 2021, Long joined the Philadelphia Phillies, reuniting with Joe Girardi, and quickly made an impact by helping the team reach the World Series in 2022. His ongoing contributions to the Phillies were recognized with a contract extension, signaling the organization's confidence in his coaching acumen and leadership.
